The RoadTrip '98

Has been cancelled :( But here's what our plans were! (We may do a small trip somewhere this summer other than the beach, but it's still undecided yet, but hey, I have all that money I saved for the Trip to spend! :)

    For as long as I can remember, it has been a dream of mine to go out on a roadtrip. Not one of those silly roadtrips with the family where you end up arguing about when, where, and what we do. No, I wanted to do a roadtrip where it was relaxed, and if we wanted to take a side trip or change the schedule we could. Well that dream may come into reality this summer (1998). So far the plan is as such: Anthony Greco, and me (Ed Hunsinger) will jump into my new Honda CR-V and begin our cross country trek in the middle of June. We have no solid, set in stone plans, and never plan on having them. All we need is a rough idea of what we want to do, and where we may want to go, and a rough time schedule (i.e. leave on June 20th and get back before August 3rd).
    So, then why is this page here? Well, two reasons, to get ideas, and to maybe get some sponsors (fingers crossed). If you know of something cool that we should try to see, email one of us, Ed or Anthony, and let us know about it. We plan on staying at campgrounds, so if you know of any cool parks of campgrounds or anything, let us know! We are completely open to any ideas. So far we have a few of our own, which are elaborated on more later.
    But there is another reason for this page as unlikely as it is. If you are a company, or know a company, that would be willing to sponsor us in some way, email us (Ed / Anthony). We're open to any ideas. :)

So far here are our Places to Stop:
(If you have any suggestions or advice whatsoever on any of these places and things to do, by all means, email us. Also if you know of good places to stay that are cheap, like campgrounds and whatnot.)

Start: Winston-Salem, NC- (where we live)

Granville and Columbus, Ohio- I may go to Denison University, and I've got friends at Ohio State

Sioux City, Iowa or somewhere nearby- We needed a place to stop cause it's a long drive

Jackson Hole, Wyoming- It's just a cool town..

Go through Montana and find a random place

Seattle, Washington- Gotta gothere at least once cause it's one of those kind of cities

Halfway Point: San Francisco, California- Our main goal and turning around point most likely. Jerry Garcia's House is here, Haight Street is here, Berkeley is here, and more

Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon- Neither of us have been to either one.

Utah- I went to Aspen Ranch, a boarding school, in Utah and have some friends that are still out there. There's also a ton of really cool parks like Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, etc. I'm also pretty familiar with some of the cool stuff to do out there cause of the time I spent at the boarding school. But we're open to suggestions too. :) We plan on hitting Loa (a tiny little town where Aspen Ranch) and more than likely Salt Lake City.

Carlsbad Caverns and Santa Fe, New Mexico- Sounded cool, and we needed a place around there to stop. :)

Waco, Texas- We have to cut through Texas and this seems like it would be an interesting place to stop.

Bourbon Street, New Orleans, Louisiana- Think about it for a few minutes.. :)

Umm I'm not gonna do any more categories, cause I don't want to be too anal. I was working for a company called Aegis Family Health Centers as an IS Technician, but I quit that job. Now I'm working down at a close by gas station working third shift (11pm-7am). As for college, I've applied to NC State, Wake Forest University, the University of Denver, and Denison in Ohio. If you know anything about these schools I might be interested to hear, talk to me! I've narrowed it down to Denison and NC State I think. I have to decide by MAy 1st though *gulp* Well I have a Honda CR-V (see above) which I got as a Birthday/Graduation present from my dad. It's what we're going to take on the trip, especially cause it has that cool removable folding picnic table in the back. :) Umm..
